DUPR

Players must enter the rating category per their ACTUAL DUPR rating. Players may play up categories ( i.e a 3.0 player is eligible, dependant on schedule for the Open, Advanced, Int + and Int categories). If there are mitigating circumstances for entering at a lower rating category to their actual DUPR rating, players may email 2027thailandopen@gmail.com  to request to be moved. However, even if a player is allowed to be moved, then there is no guarantee that there will be a place in their requested rating category.

The tournament director will do a full review of players DUPR rating at entry date to ensure that the competition is fair. The decision of the tournament director is final as to whether a player is eligible for a category. If a player/pairing has to move category due to their actual DUPR rating, then there is no guarantee of a place at the next level. Entering the wrong category risks losing a place in the championships.

Where the rating categories are amalgamated, or if a player’s doubles partner is a different rating, players must play in the higher rating category.  Players must link to Hua Hin International Pickleball Club on DUPR at the time of entering as the tournament results will be submitted to DUPR.

NUMBER OF EVENTS ENTERED

Players may only play a maximum of one event per session. Players can play down an age group. Players' age is considered as at 23:59 on 31 December 2027.

The tournament organisers reserve the right to make further changes to the rating categories if required and not to hold an event, or to amalgamate ratings if insufficient entries are received.  Both players in a doubles event must submit an entry.  Players entering ‘partner wanted’ will be paired if a partner is available.

Each event will be run in round-robin groups; thus, all players should play a minimum of three matches per event dependant on the number of entries. Winners and runners-up of each group will go forward to a knock-out stage if numbers are sufficient. All matches will consist of one game to 11 ( no setting) except for medal matches that will be one game to 15 ( no setting).

RULES & THE BALL

The tournament will be played in accordance with the current USPA  Rules.    However, in cases of disputes or special circumstances, the decision of the Tournament Committee shall be final. Specific amendments to particular rules, if required,  will be published prior to the tournament. 

Only paddles approved by USA Pickleball and UPA are allowed.

The championship ball is The Franklin X-40 Outdoor ball.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Closing date for receipt of entries is 5th January 2027. Late entries might not be accepted. We reserve the right to close online entries earlier if required. It may be necessary to restrict the numbers of entries.

The email received at the time of entry is only informing you of RECEIPT OF ENTRY and is NOT an offer of a confirmed place. You will be notified within 7 days of entering if your entry is in the confirmed draw or waiting list and you will be provided with a link to pay.

We strongly advises players NOT to book accommodation and travel until they have had an email confirming a main draw place.

Please note:

• No refunds will be considered if withdrawal is notified later than 23:59 on 5th January 2027.
• If the event is cancelled, you will receive a full refund.
• The tournament organisers reserve the right to add to or alter these conditions.  Its decision in all matters will be final.
• All players participate at their own risk.
